In July, Fabric Cartel hit the Caloundra Quilt Show 2025 and it was everything a fabric lover could hope for.
Quilters are special people ... you walk into a show like Caloundra's and there's this unspoken bond - everyone's excited, proud of what they've made and curious about what's next. I saw many familiar faces and met creatives from across the region who are starting big projects, revisiting old ones and experimenting with new styles and looking for a special piece to stitch into their work. They were all kind, generous and inspiring.
CALOUNDRA QUILTERS - THE LEGENDS BEHIND THE SHOW
The folks running this show deserves applause. They layout was smart, the organisation tight and the support excellent.
The Caloundra Quilters are more than just a group - they’re a powerhouse of creativity and community. Meeting weekly at the Caloundra Arts Centre, they focus on keeping patchwork, appliqué, and quilting alive and thriving. They run workshops, host accredited tutors, organise quilt retreats, and even donate quilts to people in need.
Every two years, they host this incredible quilt show and 2025 was no exception. The event was beautifully organised, from the layout to the flow of visitors, and the energy was electric. Huge shout-out to the organisers - you nailed it!

Events like this remind me why I do what I do - it’s not just about selling fabric, it’s about community, inspiration, and seeing people light up with ideas.
