At Fabric Cartel, we’ve always believed that local businesses are what give a town its character. They’re the places we visit regularly, the people we get to know, and the small interactions that make a community feel alive.
That’s why we’re excited to be collaborating with On Point Sharpening to launch a new community initiative for 2026 – the 10% Club.
It’s a simple idea designed to encourage people to support the businesses around them and keep local dollars circulating within our own community.
How the 10% Club Works
Throughout the year, On Point Sharpening will be set up outside Fabric Cartel on scheduled sharpening Saturdays from 9.30-2pm. They are:
March 28
April 18
May 30
June 27
July 25
August 29
October 31
November 28.
Customers can bring their scissors, knives, or tools of the trade to be professionally sharpened. In return, they’ll receive a 10% voucher that can be used for a single purchase at participating local businesses during that month.
Businesses you can save 10% at are:
- Fabric Cartel... of course!
- LDL Boutiqu, Queen St
- Jampa's Spirit of Tibet, Queen St
- Banksia Espresso, cnr Ann St
- Sign Town, Howard St
- Mr Beesley's Vintage Clothing, Howard St
- Backbeat Records, Howard St
... and growing!
It’s a small thank you – and a great excuse to explore and support the amazing businesses we have right here in our community.
Why we're doing this...
We see every day how powerful local support can be. When people choose to shop locally, it strengthens relationships between businesses, helps small traders thrive, and keeps our town vibrant.
The 10% Club is simply another way to build those connections.
By working together with On Point Sharpening and other local businesses, we hope to create a positive ripple effect – more foot traffic, more collaboration, and more reasons for people to discover what’s right on their doorstep.
Local Business? Join the 10% Club
We’d love to grow the 10% Club and include more local businesses.
Participating businesses will be included in promotional posters, social media, and other campaign materials throughout the year. There are no complicated systems involved – when a customer presents a voucher, you simply honour the 10% discount and mark the voucher as redeemed.
If you’re a local business and would like to be part of the initiative, please get in touch with Ethan at On Point Sharpening.
