Thimbles are small, durable, typically bell-shaped, or ring-shaped implements worn on a finger to protect it from being pricked while pushing needles through fabric during sewing, embroidery, or quilting. Made from metal, leather, plastic, or ceramic, they feature dimples or textured surfaces to hold the needle, reducing finger fatigue and enhancing control.
